Course Outline

Course duration:  1 day

Business Analysis

·    Identify business drivers, scope of requirements, and develop business case based on cost/benefit analysis

·    Investigate current business systems, and consider changes to business procedures and operations

Requirements Engineering

·    Fact-finding techniques including reports, meetings, interviews, walkthroughs, critical analysis, active listening and mind maps

·    Consider impact of requirements on business areas and on IT infrastructure and service delivery

Requirements Specification

·    Produce a Business Requirements Document which defines current business systems and practices, new business needs (in terms of input, processing and output) and other system interfaces

·    Maintain a Problems & Requirements List

The course includes practical exercises based on generic examples or client-supplied data.
